Florida Yacht Sales & Use Tax Cap Is Approved!
- Last Updated on 03 July 2012
Effective July 1, 2010, the maximum tax on the sale or use of a boat or vessel is $18,000. Purchases made on or after July 1, 2010, are subject to the maximum $18,000 tax. The $18,000 cap includes both the State Sales & Use Tax and any applicable discretionary sales surtax ("County Surtax"). This brings Florida's boat dealers and brokers into parity with their competitors in other states and nearby countries, where sales taxes on boats have been far lower.
Adventure through the Okeechobee Waterway Locks
- Last Updated on 03 July 2012
Our adventure through the Okeechobee Waterway Locks! The weather was uncertain and extremely hot as we began our journey cruising from our dock in St. Petersburg, Florida, to our final destination of Riveria Beach, Florida. Fortunately, we had great weather and calm seas for cruising throughout the entire adventure. Our mission was to deliver a 32 Ft Albemarle 320 Express to it's excited new owners. The Albemarle would be placed on a ship for transport to St. Maarten, Dutch Antilles, Caribbean.
Enjoy our first experience of going through the Okeechobee Waterway Locks with the seasoned Captain Bob and Captain Shar Fillingham. They have made this trip many times; but each time find the trip amazing and the Florida Everglades beautiful.
All together, we travelled over 515 miles on water and land taking five wonderful days and creating a wonderful experience we will never forget.
By the way, the Albemarle was placed on the ship a few days after delivery to Riviera Beach, Florida, and arrived safely and in great condition in St. Maarten, Antilles.
