Bertram 38 Mk III 1982 M/V Gone CoastalThe Bertram 38 Mark III replaced the original Bertram 38 Convertible built from 1970 through 1976. Faster, lighter, and roomier than her predecessor, the 38 III's large cockpit and tournament-style flybridge make her well suited for serious sportfishing. Her two-stateroom floorplan has room for an optional head in the forward stateroom. Ample storage is offered throughout. A spacious in-line galley runs the entire starboard side of the salon. In 1982, Bertram replaced the original Nautilex cockpit sole with a fiberglass deck (a major improvement). The 38 III is a capable sea boat, handling rough conditions well. Caterpillar 3208-T diesels (300hp, 18-20 knots cruise) were popular. Production ceased in 1987 with a total of 331 Bertram 38 IIIs sold making her one of the best selling 38-foot sportfishing boats ever built. M/V Gone Coastal is in original (not restored) condition with original equipment throughout. Continual upgrades keep her in serviceable condition. Standard 2 stateroom layout, head with separate stall shower, galley up (along stbd side, main salon). Flybridge only control station. Powered by original Cat 3208-T engines, each with approx.. 3300 hours.Work performed in 2020:Bottom sand-blasted, epoxy barrier coated and new Sea Hawk Bio-Cop paint (black) by Elite MarineRunning gear and underwater metal painted with VeloxRemoved Kohler 8 kw generatorNew 3000-watt inverter installedNew commercial 1200CCA batteries (4) to supply inverter with 12vDC powerNew 20 amp battery charger to recharge inverter batteriesNew M/E 8-D batteries installedNew Shakespeare 5400XT VHF antennas (2) installedRule 5.0 GPH salt-water wash down pump installedOil, oil filters, engine fuel filters and Racor filters changed in January and OctoberWork performed in 2019New Aquamet 23 shafts installed by Bertram Service YardNew cutlass bearings (4) installedNew shaft-to-engine couplings installedNew vinyl windows for FB enclosure P/S and fwdReplaced Raritan Crown electric head with manual W/C SkipperRule Tournament live well pump installedBottom painted with Sea Hawk Bio-Cop (black) by Bertram Service YardHull sides buffed outOil, oil filters, engine fuel filters, Racor filters and water pump impellers changed after 200 hours of operationWork performed in 2018Rebuilt stbd transmissionReplaced port engine head gasket and reconditioned exhaust manifoldsBottom painted with Sea Hawk Bio-Cop (black) by American Custom Yacht YardHull sides buffed outAll exterior and interior light fixtures equipped with LED bulbsOil, oil filters, engine fuel filters, Racor filters and water pump impellers changed after 200 hours of operationWork performed in 2017Bottom painted with Sea Hawk Bio-Cop (black) by Bertram Service YardNew PVC hardtop added to FB enclosureNew dual density foam V-berth cushions installedAdded aft side to FB enclosureNew U-line refrigerator/freezer installedNew hardwood floors added throughoutCockpit floor and comings paintedNew dash installed with all new SW gaugesElectronicsRaymarine C120 radar/chart plotter/depth sounder/SR-50 Sirius weather receiver/DSM-300      digital sounder module with 12 ? displayFuruno GPS Navigator GP-31Garmin echoMAP dv chart plotter/depth sounder (new in 2018)SIMRAD AC12 autopilotFusion Marine Stereo w/FB speakersIcom VHF radios (IC M-502, IC M-422)Vizio flat-screen TV w/CD playerPlease Note:  All personal gear which may be onboard during showing is not included with the sale of the vessel.
